I chose to do a website about spying in the American Revolution. I chose this because my favorite musical is set in the American Revolution and I wanted to learn more about it. Spying relates to the topic of communication because when you are spying you neeed to tell the person in charge about what you learned, so the way the spy sends the message whether you are sending it in code of by mail you are communicating. I conducted my research by using trusted websites and articles such as Britanica and Khan Academy. My mom also helped me becuase she works at Middlebury College and helped me access their library for articles. I created my project by taking about an hour (sometimes 2) every other day and experimented on how I wanted it to look, but before that I just wrote down all the information and then formatted it the way I wanted. My historical argument is that spying is an important method of communication that can change the outcome of wars. I believe that spying in the American Revolution is a significant part of history because with spying you have to communicate with other people to get a common goal, this means that you are working together with someone in hope that what you do will help other people. The men and women who spied in the American Revolution were brave enough to put themselves in harms way to ensure freedom for their country. That is what makes spying in the Revolutionary war so important.
